What awaits you?
In the theory phases at the respective university, you will acquire the theoretical basics of the respective course.
In the practical phases at Nokia, you will be involved in exciting national and international projects right from the start and build up a cross-departmental network. Of course, we also offer the possibility of a stay abroad. The variety of our practical assignments gives you a wealth of experience. Exciting challenges await you, depending on your course of study. Here are some examples:
- Degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering and information technology: Through practical assignments in our development departments for mobile communications and optical transmission technology, you will gain experience in both the hardware and software environment. The tasks include projects that cover the development cycle from feasibility through electrical implementation to testing
- Computer science course: We look forward to your cooperation in our development departments in the design, implementation and documentation of development tests. In the service area, you gain insights into the entire software lifecycle – from architecture, through implementation, validation and product launch to maintenance. In addition to the classic content of applied computer science, you can expect challenges in relation to communication networks and protocols, hardware-related programming and distributed systems.
- Courses in industrial engineering and business informatics: In your practical assignments, you will work primarily at the interface between different areas, such as technical project management, business development or the preparation of offers, due to your technical and economic interest. We look forward to your cooperation in the optimization of complex business processes.
- Applied mathematics and physics course: Our software department looks forward to your support with the implementation of driver and application software for high-bit-rate optical interfaces (currently 500 Gb/s). In addition, there are diverse tasks in integration and software simulation. In this way, you will gain insights into the practical application areas of your degree program while you are still studying.
- Course in mechatronics/precision engineering: our department looks forward to your support in the planning, design and development of individual parts and assemblies. During your studies, you will get to know the practical application areas of your subject in relation to the validation of test samples, the use of appropriate tools for mechanical design, component care and practical technical calculations such as solid state simulation.
- Business administration service management course: Through practical assignments in predominantly commercial areas such as project management, finance, human resources, purchasing or sales, you will gain an insight into different parts of the company.

Within the lectures at university, you will learn the theoretical fundamentals of your field of study.
Within the practical assignments at Nokia, you will be involved in challenging national and international projects from the very beginning and develop a valuable internal network. - Field of study electrical engineering and information technology: your practical assignments cover the whole spectrum of telecommunication technologies, from mobile to optical R&D departments and from hardware to software to customer engineering projects. So, be part in projects that cover the whole development cycle, ie from feasibility checks to electrical implementation to testing.
- Field of study information technologies: We count on your support to set-up, execute and document new R&D trials. Innovating tomorrow’s technologies – your practical assignments cover the whole software cycle of telecommunication technologies, from architecture, implementation, validation, product introduction and maintenance to service, hardware-related programming and distributed systems.
- Field of study industrial engineering or international management for business and information technology: Challenging practical assignments in departments such as technical project management, business development or presales – everything will be around balancing efficiency and automation, technical innovation and technical perfection.
- Field of applied mathematics and physics: Our software department is looking forward to your support regarding the implementation of application software for high-bit-rate optical interfaces (currently 500 Gb/s). In addition, there is a variety of challenges in integration and software simulation waiting for you. Gain insights into the practical application of your theoretical know-how already within your studies.
- Field of mechatronics / precision engineering: our team is looking forward to your support in the planning, design and elaboration of individual parts and assemblies. During your studies, you will get to know the practical application of your theoretical know-how with regards to the validation of test samples, the use of appropriate tools for mechanical design, component maintenance and practical technical calculations and simulations.
