At Siemens Molecular Imaging, we design and manufacturer both SPECT and PET imaging systems for the world market. 

Siemens offers intern positions in several areas of engineering with varying responsibilities.  Our intern experience is unique with access to onsite manufacturing as well as typical engineering functions.  Internships are integrated directly into the functional departments and given tasks that develop and stretch their skills; this may mean spending time in the test lab, or at the computer terminal.  Past projects ranged from simple designs to prototyping advanced collision prevention systems. 

All of our positions require basic knowledge of Office applications. 

Specific skills, such as use of software development environments and CAD systems will be learned on the job.   All positions may expose the student to customer requirements as well as testing in a regulated industry.  We’re confident your experience at Siemens MI will give you a broad foundation from which to launch your career. 

Mechanical engineering has positions for students interested in the intern program.  Students will:

• Utilize Siemens NX to design simple to semi-complex mechanical systems.

• Become familiar with: Sheet metal, machine parts, casting, injection molding and more.

• Develop and execute test plan to verify designs. 

• Create material specifications, including detailed drawings.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

The ideal candidate is a rising junior ME student with commitment to at least one 6-month rotation (2 quarters, including summer).  Consideration is given to sophomores that have completed ME202, CIVE 216 and PHYSICS 135-1.
