NASU APPRECIATES BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR FOR APPROVING PRE-EMPLOYMENT IN EDUCATION SECTOR

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institution (NASU) of the Post Primary Schools Board has appreciated Governor Douye Diri for approving the pre-employment of two thousand teachers in the Education Sector.

A statement on behalf of the Association by its chairman, Comrade Dike Samson-Nyanate and the Secretary Comrade Christian Mark says the gesture will enhance the educational sector and Primary Schools Board.

The association however, worry over slow pace over the recruitment process and emphasized the need for expedite action.

While emphasizing that the Non-Academic Staff are critical stakeholders in every teaching environment, the group however urged Government to employ more Non-teaching staff.

They also express concern that the state has only one thousand Non-Academic staff in Public secondary without security-guards, cleaners, drivers, cleaners and messengers as well as laboratory attendants and urged the government to address the shortfall.

The Non-Academc Staff Union of Education and Associated Institution call for the employment of security guards for the protection of lives and property
Pledged to work for the second term bid of the Governor and appealed to the State Government to employ three thousand teachers and one thousand Non-teaching staff to give the sector a boost.
