The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is pleased to announce a call for International Bursary Applications for the 2023 academic year.
The invitation is for UNDERGRADUATE and POST-GRADUATE studies in the disciplines of craft, dance, literature, multidiscipline, music, theatre, and visual arts.
The grant will be renewable for the duration of the course, subject to the successful completion of each year of study and with adherence to the conditions of the grant.
All applicants of this International Bursary Funding call, particularly those who have been given recognition of prior learning, are required to have been already admitted at their preferred Institution of Higher Learning. New students or those that are already registered and studying at institutions abroad are welcome to apply.
Applications will be assessed based on the applicant’s artistic merit, financial need, acceptance at the identified institution, credibility of the qualification they want to pursue as well as the prestige of the institution that they have been accepted at. The grant will not exceed R250 000 per annum and is subject to Council approval.
Eligibility
You have to suffice the following criteria to be considered eligible for the bursary programme.
#The applicants must be a citizen of South African
#The applicant must be selected in any one of the courses mentioned by the bursary panel for full-time in an accredited and registered tertiary institution in South Africa
#The applying candidate must obtain a minimum 65% average
#Candidates are selected based on the merit of the artists, the credibility of the qualification chosen, the status of the institution selected and upon the financial need of the candidate.

Applications must be submitted on or before Friday, 31 March 2023 at 23h59.
Please note that late and incomplete applications will not be considered, and no exceptions will be made. Funding guidelines can be downloaded from www.nac.org.za.
