Job Description as a Graphic Designer

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government Communications Directorate is seeking a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate must have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams across the government, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project

Corem Functions

Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet Office of the Premier and Public Policy goals.
Obtain input from Director and/or Deputy Director of Communications to ensure that designs meet office standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the Turks and Caicos Islands Government appropriately.
Work independently as well as cooperatively with Communications Directorate to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include various simultaneous projects.
Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities.
Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video.

Core Functions

Develops, in conjunction with the relevant team members, ideas for effective and creative graphics and visuals for social media.
Produces innovative graphics using computerized equipment and traditional drawing skills, in keeping with certain specifications, budgets and schedules.
Coordinates work with the Communications team for the effective production of high-quality designs and visuals
Maintains a graphics file.
Liaises with team to develop designs and captions for social media.
Develops and maintains good relationship with stakeholders.
Performs any other related duties which may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or related discipline with at least two (2) years’ experience or
Associate degree with at least five (5) years’ experience

· Certification in computer software such as web or graphic design or other equivalent qualification

· Experience working with Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Cloud, Final Cut Pro, etc.

Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems
Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing softwaree.

SALARY: Grade 7.1 – $42,853.20 per annum
